Class Rules and Expectations

This week was dedicated to establishing our classroom rules and expectations. The kids brainstormed a list of rules that they thought our class should have. We then lumped them into three main categories and proceeded to write our specific rules from there. They are:

1. Treat others the way you want to be treated




2. Be accepting of other people's differences




3. Always do your best




4. Be a good listener




5. Take care of yourself, others, and the classroom




6. Have fun!

I was thinking we'd only have 3 or 4 rules, but they really wanted all of them on there. The kids split up into groups and made beautiful posters of the rules to display in the classroom. They also created a short skit with their groups to act out on of the rules. It was a lot of fun.
